Pancakes and greenbeans

I don't think there's much point in complaining about airplane food. It's airplane food.  What more do you need to say?*

I don't expect much. Claggy sauces, mushy veggies, uncuttable meat, and rock-cold rolls are barely worth mentioning.
But this breakfast took it the extra step for me.

You've got the canned fruit cocktail with the standard anemic grapes, the pressurized yogurt that is just waiting to spit when opened, ho hum, but, what's that peeking out from under the pancakes? Why, it's a boiled carrot. And behind that?

Mmm. Green beans and onions. Just like... just like no breakfast ever served in the history of any country blessed with the wonders of air travel.

*My uncle, who is almost eighty, disagrees. He says, "They always give you a meal or two. It's always pretty good, isn't it?" He is an outstanding cook, so clearly something has changed. When he saw the photos, he agreed that this did not look "pretty good." "Gee!" He said. "Why would they serve that?"

That is the most atrocious breakfast I have ever seen. Remind me to never take that airline--or at least, pack a sandwich before getting on board. Ugh.

Happy New Year btw.

taking 'all day breakfast' to a new level, all the food you'd eat in a day, in one breakfast :)

Hi guys! Happy new year. This was United Airlines. They did not respond to my Twitter @unitedairlines call-out, by the way. Which is fine. What is there to say?

After looking at the bowl, plate, and coffee cup (and based on what looks like another airline's logo on the napkin), @UnitedAirlines can assure you this meal was not served on a United aircraft.

But we'd love to have you on board one of our airplanes; we're certain you'd love what we offer!

Hmm, this is a good point, United. I bought the ticket online as a United Airlines ticket. It was a codeshare with ANA. Even though everything about the flight was, now that I think about it, clearly ANA (in-flight mags, flight attendants' uniforms, er, check in counter), I still thought of it the whole time as United dressed up as ANA. Not thinking, sorry.

Maybe you could pass the word along?
The entertainment system was good and much appreciated, by the way, if you are sending them feedback.

No worries! And glad to pass along the feedback about the entertainment system to ANA.

Well, 9 times out of 10, I like airline main meals... just the deserts I can't trust. HEHE
