Yes, it's from Stand Alone Complex, but it's quoting Catcher in the Rye. In Stand Alone Complex, a criminal hacks the digital cameras and cyborgs to replace all records of his face with that logo, which for some reason quotes Catcher in the Rye. Only fully natural people, which are rare in the Stand Alone Complex word, can see or remember his real face.
The full quote from Catcher: "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes. That way I wouldn't have to have any goddam stupid useless conversations with anybody. If anybody wanted to tell me something, they'd have to write it on a piece of paper and shove it over to me. They'd get bored as hell doing that after a while, and then I'd be through with having conversations for the rest of my life."

a new angle on the whoopie cushion gag - offend em twice.

I've seen that somewhere before...Stand Alone Complex. One of them AM-ina-shuns
Whaaaaa....? Although I did use that tactic once while in grad school. Wouldn't recommend it.

Clearly, a display of major cynicism.
