We are waiting for our spicy miso ramen in a shop in Sapporo's Ramen Alley. Two other people at the log counter ordered noodles with butter and corn. No corn, the ramen lady apologized. A moment later, a bag of groceries was handed in through the open window. Corn! The cook said. Ramen crisis averted.
